National Rock Climbing Day

The Factory Bouldering, Anaheim

Rock climbing is like climbing up a ladder if that ladder is a workout using every muscle in your body!

The factory bouldering

Take a handle on your day and check out our list of southern California rock climbing and bouldering gyms. Even if you’re afraid of heights, you don’t have to be scared. There are pads thicker than a bowl of oatmeal here, so you’re safe. Try something new and head to one of these indoor climbing gyms for your first time, and maybe you’ll find a new hobby you never expected to love.

Some climbing tips before you head out:
*1. Purchase some chalk – you don’t want your hands to feel the burn!
2. Rent the shoes – trying to climb without these shoes is asking for a hard time.
3. Look for the color or number tabs – This shows you their level of difficulty, so check the scale at the location.
4. Try something challenging – You can surprise yourself with completing more difficult trails!

“hangers”

*1. What happens when you don’t use chalk! While climbing, I slipped a little bit and felt a burning sensation. When I came down, I saw my skin ripped – and as the pros call it – “hangers.” After holding back tears, the gym gave me nail clippers to cut the hangers off. So make sure you start your climb with some Lebron style chalking up!

Without scaring you any more, here are a few OC climbing gyms for you to choose!
