Local food establishments come to the rescue so no kid goes unfed

Kids eat FREE at local restaurants!

During this time schools have closed leaving millions of students without school lunches, which for some is the only meal they have. But with the help of several local OC businesses no kid should go unfed! These restaurants will be offering FREE meals for kids: 

Slapfish

Slapfish is a seafood restaurant with a modern twist that hits the spot at any time. With 8 locations in California and over 20 locations, Slapfish is amongst some of the establishments that will be available for pickup or delivery. Founder Andrew Gruel has announced that kids can eat free every day as long as the parents make a purchase. They have provided a tasty menu to choose from including a shrimp bowl, salmon quesadilla, fish bites, organic tenders, grilled cheese, burger, grilled fish taco, and chicken taco.

Break of Dawn

Break of Dawn is a breakfast and brunch establishment offering some of the best Asian fusion food in Laguna Hills. Chef/ owner Dee Nguyen will be offering free meals to children who are below the age of 18 and accompanied by an adult. Nguyen states, “While we understand that school closures play an important role in limiting the transmission of the Coronavirus, there’s also the concern about the impact that it may cause to the communities who rely on schools for children to have access to breakfast and lunch. It’s important that we continue to feed our students.”

The Dylan

The Dylan will be offering free breakfast burritos for kids ages 6-12 years old, from 7 to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday. This is not part of their normal dining, they will be handing out burritos at the front entrance.

Norms

Norms locations have decided to stay open at the moment but will offer phone orders and take out options. They have partnered with Doordash, Uber Eats, Grubhub and Postmates with limited contact. The best part is that they will be extending their Kids Eat Free offer to 7 days a week, 12 pm to 9 pm, for pick up/to-go orders (with the purchase of an adult entrée) until further notice.

El Torito

El Torito has decided to stay open for the moment and still offer take out and free delivery on their website. Not to mention they are helping in any way that they can with new deals every day. As of Monday, March 16th their restaurants will be offering free meals for kids 12 & under, in response to news of many school district closures.
