And for the first time in the concert series’ history, there will be beer.

The hot musical summer continues for the South Bay as the lineup for the newly enhanced Hermosa Beach Summer Series is announced with more than a dozen bands performing on the sand during two consecutive weekends on Aug.17-18 and 24-25.

And for the first time in the concert series’ history, there will be beer.

Now presented by KROQ and under the control of new producers, the free concert series, which launched in 2010, will bring alternative rock to the sand with Aug. 17 headliner Atlas Genius, followed the next day by a one-time reunion show by pop rockers Iglu & Hartly on Aug. 18.

A bit of Americana is on the lineup for Aug. 24  with Los Angeles’ The White Buffalo as the main act while the festival will close Aug. 25 with Sunday headliner Mariachi El Bronx (the mariachi alter ego of punk band The Bronx).
